A regular check-up & clean is crucial in maintaining oral health and preventing possible dental problems. What you can expect from the highly experienced team at Nordic Dental is a comprehensive examination of your mouth, head, neck, teeth, gums, bite, breathing habits and much more. As part of the comprehensive check-up, we use very low dosage digital x-rays (if required) and in chair photos of your teeth; digital photos of your teeth assist greatly in the diagnosis, treatment planning and explanation.

After the examination, the dentist or dental hygienist (coming soon!) will commence cleaning your teeth. At Nordic Dental we want every patient’s experience to be comfortable, pain free, relaxing, and informative. Our ergonomic chair ensures you are resting comfortably, we offer streaming services for viewing on the screen or music of your choice if that’s your thing! We have special glasses that protect your eyes but also provide a clear and uninterrupted view of the screen, because we know our hands are not see-through and we have noise cancelling headphones.

The conventional approach to teeth cleaning has undergone a revolutionary transformation, thanks to the advent of Electro Medical Systems (EMS) technology. We use AIRFLOW for Guided Biofilm Therapy, where we disclose the biofilm for targeted removal. Biofilm is the main cause of oral diseases, gum disease and calculus, but has also been connected to many systemic conditions, such as cardio-vascular diseases, Alzheimer’s, dementia, inflammation of the gut and much more.

AIRFLOW is faster, gentler to tissue, pain free and is far superior at removing the biofilm compared to conventional cleaning techniques. Once all the harmful biofilm has been removed, we use the PIEZON ultrasonic scaler to remove the remaining calculus. PIEZON is gentle on the tooth enamel and yet incredibly efficient at removing all the calculus without causing sensitivity or scratching your teeth.

At the beginning of your treatment the dentist will evaluate your oral hygiene practices and advise you on how to maintain your oral health, such as brushing and flossing techniques, and recommends products that are suitable for your individual needs. But crucially work with you to make sure it works for you! We will also provide you samples of products to try until you find the one that works for you, so you don’t end up with products you’ll never use.
